Leverage season 4 continues November 27 with “The Experimental Job,” and the team is going to continue to have to deal with Latimer, their newest nemesis. What’s coming up in terms of him and the season finale?
Executive producer Dean Devlin talked to Entertainment Weekly Friday about what’s coming up for the team, who will “feel the after affects” of “playing Robin Hood” by season’s end:
“Throughout the season we tried to bring back, ‘what happens when you play with fire?’ And it’s all going to culminate with the [two-part] season finale.”
As the team continues to deal with Latimer, it’s all building up to the season finale, which sounds like it’s going to be one that fans of the show will certainly enjoy, as Devlin has revealed:
“We’re going to allow that to grow to its conclusion, but also to touch back on previous seasons and show how they all relate to what we’re trying to get to at the end of this year. There’s a lot of references—even a lot of references to the pilot—in the season finale this year.”
There are some characters returning from over the years in the final eight episodes of season 4, including Tara (Jeri Ryan), Hurley (Drew Powell), Jimmy Ford (Tom Skerritt), Archie Leach (Richard Chamberlain), Maggie Collins (Kari Matchett), Mr. Quinn (Clayne Crawford), and Chaos Mason (Wil Wheaton). It sounds like watching the pilot wouldn’t be a bad idea before the season finale. In fact, the synopses for the remaining episodes do reveal some of what to expect, both from Jimmy Ford’s return and Latimer’s involvement, and the season finale:
In “The Radio Job” on January 8, “When Latimer hires Nate’s father to pull off a heist in an ultra-secure government office, the Leverage team must stage a fake hostage stand-off when they’re trapped inside and the feds lay siege to the building.”
In “The Last Dam Job” on January 15, “The LEVERAGE team must recruit old friends and rivals in order to take down Latimer and a foe from their past.”
The team will be dealing with Latimer in those two episodes, and it’ll be interesting to see who returns in that season finale to help them take down Latimer. Remember, he has been profiting from others’ takedowns by the Leverage team, so he’ll have some enemies as well. Who will show up to help out? Will they once again be facing off against Chaos, who could now be working for Latimer? Could Chaos be the “foe from their past” they face in “The Last Dam Job” along with Latimer?
