What do you get the person who truly has everything?
One answer might be the a unique, vintage-inspired travel bar inspired by Cointreau International Ambassador, Dita Von Teese. This charming woman has a quiet elegance, and yet, she is seductive, an undisputed queen of burlesque. Dita Von Teese was inspired to create an accessory that would complete her elaborate travel collection.
Together with Cointreau, the original French triple sec, Dita Von Teese created “My Cointreau Travel Essentials” bar. Presented in a chic, retro hatbox, the luxury coffret opens up to reveal a beautifully refined travel bar that conveniently contains all the accessories needed to create original cocktails while jet setting around the globe or while celebrating at home with friends. The design for the coffret was influenced by her deep love of fashionable hats as well as her admiration of the stylish round hatboxes adorning the arms of elegant women at the turn of the century. “For me, “My Cointreau Travel Essentials” evokes a nostalgic time gone by, when style and glamour were at their peak, with the cocktail component adding a modern twist,” notes Dita.
What is in travel essentials? The white and grained-leather finished bar ensemble is equipped with key accessories needed to create tasty concoctions away from home. Items include a jigger for measuring; a special bar spoon – highly-treasured by great cocktail artists; two vintage-inspired glasses; a silver shaker; and a Cointreau atomizer – a delicate spray bottle intended to inspire a new cocktail ritual: Just as a woman applies perfume before a romantic evening on the town, the atomizer adorns a cocktail with a spray of sumptuous aromatic notes of Cointreau. The stylish valise also includes a leather-bound Cointreau notebook that can be used for penning innovative recipes, inspirations and desires. The final touch is a signed, limited-edition bottle of Cointreau.
This luxury accessory is just the thing to wow the person who has everything, and especially the sophisticated world traveler. It is now available at $399.00 at select high end retailers. Visit cointreau.com or facebook.com/cointreau for more details.

If you aren’t quite up to spending $400 on a travel bar, or you can’t make it to Morgans, perhaps you can at least stock your own bar with Cointreau, and a few, stylish cocktails that feature Cointreau Liqueur. Here are two of my new favorites:
New York – the Sidecar
20ml (0.6 fl oz) Cointreau
10ml (0.3 fl oz) Lemon juice
40ml (1.3 fl oz) Rémy Martin VSOP cognac
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass rimmed with sugar.
Los Angeles – The Cointreau MargDita
1 1/2 oz silver tequila 1 oz.
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1/4 oz. Monin Rose Syrup
mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and pour into a chilled coup (champagne saucer type) glass. Garnish with a floating organic yellow rose petal (for those who just can’t manage that, try a paper, plastic or silk garnish).
