When I’m working on a book, I channel my guide groups through automatic writing, and I write with my guides on a daily basis. Still, I never pass up an opportunity to have my cards read or have a psychic reading. Really, who doesn’t love a little bit of extra insight and guidance when it comes to making important life decisions? So, where does one go to get the very best guidance possible? We go “inside,” of course!
Have you ever had a “gut feeling” that you followed and were happy you did? Or you didn’t follow it and then wished that you had? That gut feeling is what we call our “little voice within,” and it’s the voice of our Higher Self trying to make itself heard. Our Higher Self, aka our “little voice within,” is communicating with us daily, attempting to steer us in the right direction and help us make better decisions so that we can live happier, less drama-filled and less stressful lives. One of the best and easiest ways to open a dialog with our Higher Self is through meditation, because meditating allows us to quiet our minds, tune in, and open up to the wisdom of our little voice within. That little voice is like an internal GPS system working to keep us on track as we labor to meet the goals of our current incarnation. It’s easy to tune into the wisdom of our Higher Self, all we have to do is sit quietly and listen.
Meditation goes far beyond being a New Age or Metaphysical tool; in fact, the word “meditation,” has its roots in Latin, and it means “to think” and “to heal.” Practicing meditation on a daily basis, even if we can only dedicate five or ten minutes, helps us become more mindful of, and attuned to, our thoughts, feelings, and what’s going on with our bodies. We enjoy these benefits because meditation is a state of awareness—a natural state of altered consciousness that allows us to balance our bodies and our minds. And the best thing about meditating is that you can do it anywhere, at any time of the day or night.
