I have decided to practice Mindfulness Monday’s. What I’ve found is that the more I’m doing a formal meditation practice, the more I’m realizing how unconscious I am most of the time. Mindfulness just means being aware of NOW. I have either been chasing the future or stuck somewhere in the past. With mindfulness I’m learning how to be present right here and now. My desire is to have that mindfulness become more a part of my everyday life and not just Monday’s.
*Just a few Mindfulness Practices*
~Breathing in and out and being aware of the breath.
~Mindful walking. With the in breath take a step and then take another step on your exhale. Breathe normally and focus on linking the breath and steps.
~Use your breathing to bring you back to the present anytime you have a feeling of anger, stress, unhappiness.
~Before speaking take an aware breath or say a mantra such as Peace, Calm, Happy.
You will be surprised at how peaceful and aware living in Mindfulness can help you become. Try practicing a Mindfulness Monday for yourself. Let me know how it works for you!!
