Misha Bryan and Marcus Collins (two of the “X Factor” U.K. finalists of 2011) are reportedly among the thousands of people who are unhappy with the show’s decision to bring back four previously rejected finalists to give them a chance to re-enter the competition. According to The Sun, 19-year-old Bryan and 23-year-old Collins are so upset about this decision that they threw temper tantrums to protest the “second chance” finalists returning to the same house where the other “X Factor” U.K. finalists are living while they are contestants on the show.
As previously reported, thousands of complaints have been made on the Internet about “The X Factor” giving eliminated finalists Amelia Lily, Jonjo Kerr, 2 Shoes and James Michael a chance to come back to the show. The public can vote through November 12, 2011, on which act will return to “The X Factor” U.K., and the act that gets the most votes will be announced in the show’s live episode that ITV will televise on November 12.
The act that gets to return to the show will be the replacement for former “X Factor” U.K. finalist Frankie Cocozza, 18, who abruptly left the contest on November 8 due to violating show rules. In an interview with The Sun, Cocozza admitted that the reason for his “X Factor” exit was because he had bragged in front of “X Factor” U.K. staffers about using cocaine at a November 5 party.
The four acts invited to compete for a “second chance” spot on the show were all previously rejected by the “X Factor” judges from their respective mentor categories. Their eliminations (which were televised on October 9) were based on the judges’ decisions, not voting from the public. Many viewers who have complained about this unexpected twist have pointed out that all of these four acts have missed out on the weeks of rehearsals and mentor guidance that the other finalists have gotten.
The Sun reports that Collins and Bryan reacted badly to this twist in the competition:
The pair were said to be furious that the twist had stolen the limelight from them.
A source said: “Marcus and Misha have both thrown tantrums and their behaviour has been unsportsmanlike.”
The bad vibes shocked girl duo 2 Shoes and Amelia Lily — who all decided against moving in after excitedly fetching up at the house with fellow rejects James Michael and Jonjo Kerr.
As previously reported, “The X Factor” U.K. judge Louis Walsh has predicted that Bryan, Collins and Janet Devlin will be the final three “X Factor” U.K. acts of 2011. Bryan and Devlin are being mentored by “X Factor” U.K. judge Kelly Rowland. Collins is being mentored by “X Factor” U.K. judge Gary Barlow, who was Cocozza’s mentor when Cocozza was a contestant on the show.
