Memphis-native Grace Laudner said she has very sensitive skin and retinol irritates it, yet most products she finds to combat the advanced stages of aging include retinol. She asked for a non-retinol suggestion, and we found it!
Lancôme’s new Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector creamy serum imitates the natural defense mechanisms of plants to address fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, and unevenness. The serum’s active ingredient, LR 2412, is a derivative of jasmonic acid, a hormone released by damaged plants that triggers self-repair. As this tiny molecule travels into the deepest layers of the skin, it increases the production of fibrillin, which boosts elasticity. The LR 2412 also increases type-7 collagen, which helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and Hyaluronic acid, which plumps skin by drawing water to the surface.
According to Dermatologist Ranella Hirsch, “Fibrillin can increase elasticity, which can give you healthier-looking skin, and type-7 collagen is one of the building blocks of collagen, which creates the structure of skin, so that may really help with the look of wrinkles.”
When researching this product on the Lancômewebsite, there were about 10 pages of reviews. I believe there were three reviews that sum-up the benefits of this serum quite nicely:
According to a makeup artist from Los Angeles, Visionnaire is an AMAZING product, period. I noticed almost immediate results. My pores were definitely smaller and my skin had an overall healthy glow to it. I’ve used most every aging serum on the market, and in my opinion, Visionnaire is quite simply the best. A lot of serums have a very oily finish to them which makes them next to impossible to use under makeup; however, Visionnaire has a creamy texture and absorbs quickly into your skin. I’m now hooked on Visionnaire and I recommend it to all of my clients.
Reviewed by a long-time Lancôme loyalist, I have been using this product for a couple of months now. I did have to live through a pimple popping up for a few weeks as often happens when I switch skin care products. My skin is pretty sensitive (and not young.) Now that I have lived through the transition period I love the way my skin looks. It’s super clear, more even toned (I have some redness normally), and the fine lines have diminished. I have even begun using this on my neck too. If the bottle was bigger and cheaper I would use it as body lotion!
Comments from another long-time Lancôme loyalist from New York: I’ve had great fun with this! My friends and co-workers keep telling me “You look so different! What have you done to your hair? Did you change your makeup?” The answer is THIS product! I have very nice smooth wrinkle free skin to begin with. This product improved the overall smoothness, evened out my freckled face, definitely removed 80% of the darkness under my eyes. Yes! It IS “pricey” but it IS worth EVERY single penny. You use so very little and it lasts long, real long. The results? Even longer. If you truly want to buy something JUST FOR YOU, this is it!
