Old Years Night…Leave it all behind a drumming circle with Jeff Deen leading meditations to ready you for the New Year. It is at Five Sisters, 8805 SW 132nd Street, Miami, the donation is 18.00 and reservations are suggested by calling 786 250-4170.
Drum Circle @ The Farm– Beginning at 8:00pm there will be a Drumming Circle and pot luck at Earth N’ Us Farm located at 7630 NE 1st Ave. in Miami. The farm is a slice of heaven right in the middle if Little Haiti. Bring an instrument and something for the potluck and share in the love.
The Zodiac Capricorn Party with Yoga is happening in Hallandale, just across the Miami-Dade line and will worth the little trek north. It is sponsored by Expand the Love and features Artists such as Lucy Gallant of Free Like Me. There will be a yoga chakra balance and alignment with the energy of Capricorn. Bayfront Park New Years Eve is always a blast with a concert by Ludacris and free fireworks!
Big Orange The 35 foot King Orange will rise along the side is downtown Miami’s Intercontinental Hotel. At midnight it will reach the top and there will be a lazer show and fireworks to ring in 2012! It begins at 6pm.
King Mango Strut Parade Kicks off in Coconut Grove at 2:00pm. Go and get your laugh on as no one is exempt from the spoofs. A great way to relax and laugh, the parade begins at the corner of Main Highway & Commodore Plaza in Coconut Grove.
Unity on the Bay New Years Eve Service begins at 7:30. There will be a white stone release ceremony to clear the way for the New Year. Unity is located at 411 NE 21st Street, Miami.
Universal Truth Center will have its New Years Eve Burning Bowl Service with three services on Saturday at 6pm, 8:30 and 11pm. There will be a special performance by a world renowned saxophonist Mel Holder as the featured guest. Universal is located at 21310 Douglas Road in Miami Gardens. Call 305 624-4991 for more info.
Traditional Night Watch Services will be held all over and as a child I remember it being exciting at the “watchman” would announce the time as everyone ushered in the New Year in praise and worship. It was mystical and alluring, a time of both refection and intention
