Crú-A Wine Bar in Larimer Square is offering a Champagne flight, sparkling wine flight, and sommelier selections for pairing with its 3-course New Year’s Eve menu. Seating is available between 5pm and 10pm, with party hats, noise makers, music, and a Champagne toast at midnight. Green Russell, Denver’s intimate cocktail joint with the feel of a Prohibition-style speakeasy, is offering two drinks and an appetizer for $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity, for New Year’s Eve. The drinks include Champagne Punch and one sparkling or classic cocktail from a menu of 25 special cocktails for New Year’s Eve, including the Lavender French 75 (from 1915), Corpse Reviver #1 (from 1930), Ward 8 (from 1898), and Death in the Afternoon (from 1935). The appetizer will include choice of: Lobster Cocktail with avocado, Bloody Mary Sauce and gnocchi fritto, or Beef Tartare with lemon garlic aioli and truffle Parmesan frites topped with a sunnyside-up quail egg, or Cold Smoked Salmon with Dijon sauce, capers, and grilled frisée, or Vegetarian Mushroom Dynamite with wild mushrooms, spicy jalapeño aioli and house-made brioche, or Roasted Veal Sweetbreads with chestnut beurre fondue, veal demi-glace, arugula, and crispy shallots. Indulge French Bistro is offering these red wines on New Year’s eve: Château Beaumont, Haut Médoc, Bordeaux 2009, for $45/bottle; Château La Guilbonnerie, Blaye, Côtes de Bordeaux 2009, for $12/glass or $58/bottle; and Domaine Jean Tardy & Fils, Cuvée Maelie, Bourgogne Hâutes Côtes de Nuits, 2008 for $58/bottle.
