As with all holidays, MARTA runs different schedules than normal, but for New Year’s Eve weekend 2011, there will actually be both an increase and decrease of service.
Saturday is New Year’s Eve and MARTA is increasing and extending service hours, with the last trains departing Five Points in all directions at 2 a.m. However, if you aren’t departing from the Five Points station, you’ll want to be back at MARTA 30 minutes before then. Additionally, the red/gold line will be running trains every 15 minutes and the blue/green rail line every 15 minutes until 4 p.m., then trains will be operating every 10 minutes. Several bus routes will also be rerouted due to events downtown, so be sure to check this bus reroute list to see if your route has any changes.
New Year’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, so all schedules will follow the normal Sunday schedules, which can be found using the links below. Because New Year’s Day will be observed on Monday, Jan. 2, MARTA will run on a Sunday schedule again for a second day in a row. You can view the rail schedules online by choosing a rail station or choosing the line (red, gold, blue and green) for more specific information. Bus schedules are also available online, just be sure to select “Sunday” when viewing specific route information.
