Madame Alexander Doll Company hosts Miss America Meet and Greet
January 29, 2011 – Madame Alexander Doll Company Hosts the 90th Celebration of the Miss America Pageant. Madame Alexander Doll Company hosted the event welcoming the newly crowned Miss America, Miss Nebraska, Teresa Scanlan and former Miss America and reality TV star, Ericka Dunlap. Doll collectors could register for the event for a meet and greet. Those who registered would receive free, a Madame Alexander’s Limited Edition of the Cissette Doll. The doll wears a blue gown, with Miss America sash.
American Folk Art Museum Exhibits Forms and Figures
March 2011 – The exhibit, included figurines in print and in drawings, using various colors and shapes to express a vision, closely related to dolls. This exhibit, like doll art, is used to express a vision, using emphasis on facial details, contours of the body. An engaging exhibit recommended for doll collectors to visit.
GI Joe Navajo Code Talker Doll
March 28, 2011 – A look at GI Joe Navajo Code Talker Doll. This GI Joe doll depicts the Navajo Indian warriors and soldiers who served in World War II. These soldiers, also known as the walking code used codes that were associated with military terms. Such as a dive – bomber, “gini” meant chicken hawk (a bird that dives on its prey). The doll comes with various accoutrements, such as camouflage-covered helmet, web belt, laminated list of codes along with English translations. The list is also aimed to inspire for creating one’s very own codes.

August 18, 2011 – A view at The Tonner Doll Company, stylish footwear for 22 inch American Model dolls. These shoes have a great likeness to the real thing. The styles were ankle length boots with open toe and Mary Janes shoes. They have a look of real leather, with buckles and mesh.

Madame Alexander hosts Reception of Auction Event of Candy Spelling’s Doll Collection
November 19, 2011 – A reception was held by Madame Alexander. It was the Madame Alexander’s Auction Event of Candy Spelling’s unique and rare doll collection. Mrs Spelling is the wife of the late TV producer Aaron Spelling. Her doll collection was auctioned off by the company Theriault. The auction was held at theWaldorf-Astoria, open to the public on November 20, 2011.
Black Doll Show Annual Black Doll and Gift Show
December 3 to December 17 – The 2011 Black Doll and Gift show. This doll show welcomed all doll collectors and doll lovers to enjoy a unique shopping experience. Doll collectors had three days to shop from doll artists who create handmade and one of kind dolls. The show was held at the Done Up! Salon and Boutique, located in mid-town Manhattan.
