In continuing our efforts to highlight the best New Year’s events in Jacksonville, we’d like to bring your attention to the free concert at Intuition Ale Works. The concert, sponsored by Underbelly Products, will take place on Saturday, New Year’s Eve from 8pm to 1am and will feature three local Jacksonville bands:
1. Seacyles: Band members consist of Brian Squillace (drums/effects), Lindsey Tuller (keys/ vocals), and Jordan Aldridge (guitar). The band describes itself as “a Jacksonville based sych-wave social experiment.” Click here for a sample of their music.
2. Opiate Eyes: This band started in 2009 in Jacksonville and lists the likes of MGMT, Radiohead, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Dirty Projectors, and Kings of Leon as their musical inspirations. Band members are: Drew Bond, Tom Essex, Roland David, and Thomas King. Go to their website found here for a sample of their music.
3. Wave Functions: The final band is also from Jacksonville and consists of Chris Pringle (guitar/vocals), Jeremy Nix (keys/vocals), Paige McMullen (guital/vocals), Ryan Turk (guital, keys, vocals), Chris Estes (drums, keys). This band’s description is of itself as a “probabilistic transdimensional gospel rock experience” may be better understood by their music, found at this link.
Intuition Ale Works is a local, Jacksonville craft brewery located at 720 King Street. Intuition offers a large tap room with numerous beers on tap including: Lowdown Porter (chocolate, crystal and black malts), Peopl’s Pale Ale (American-style, two-row malted barley, caramel malt, wheat malt), Jon Boat (German, sweet, malty), Golden Spiral (Belgian, spicy, fruit esters, refreshing), Grocery Gett’r (English), Equinox Fall Saison (ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla), and Honey Badger Saison (fermented in honey, dry, spicy, sweet) to name a few. Intuition also offers food options on select days from Driftwood BBQ and others.
