Have you looked back at your holiday photos and noticed you wish you looked less…blah? The holidays are a great time to experiment with different colors, sparkles, and dramatic hues and now is the best time to fix yourself up for the last holiday of the season- New Year’s Eve!
Be photo ready with dark eyeshadows and sparkle eyeliners and lip glosses. Be tasteful with the bright colors though- don’t go crazy, just be adventurous enough to compliment your fabulous party dress!
Alyssa, a sales associate at Ulta in Lakewood, said that since the holiday season began they have sold more eyeshadow colors in darker hues than they normally do. This is probably because of the holiday season and more and more women are turning to the fun, dramatic evening makeup than ever before.
Not only does wearing darker makeup make you look more party-ready, it also shows up better in pictures and makes you look less washed out and dull.
On the other hand, Alyssa also said that they have been selling lighter foundations. Is that because the summer tans are going away? Or maybe because lighter foundations contrast more with darker eye shadows and liners? It could be a bit of both.
Finish off your look with a great, easy hair style and give yourself carefree waves.
“We’ve been selling a lot of wavers…They’re one of our most popular products,” Alyssa said.
These simple holiday makeup tricks can be great for any evening party or date night, and if it’s too late to fix your style mishaps this season, it’s never too late to get a head start on your look for your next big outing.
