It’s that crazy time of year; horns blowing, streamers streaming, and love and affection shown by all. Ringing in the new year can be one of the funnest times of the whole year. With house parties, dance clubs, and even masquerade balls, there’s always something for everyone to do to end the current year with a bang.
If you are more of the traditional new year’s eve fan, wanting to spend the evening living it up with friends and loved ones, there is plenty to do in the Colorado Springs region. Many, if not all, the dance clubs and bars will be glad to entertain you to the wee hours of the morning. If you’re hoping for more of a unique twist on the traditional party, give Jack Quinn’s a try. This New Year’s eve bash is draped in green and adds a great Irish Flavor bringing Big Paddy, an Irish Rock band in for an evening you’ll never forget. If you’re looking for more of the masquerade ball-type of evening, then look no further than the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center! This is the third annual event which is always a fun one to experience. The Fine Arts Center is dramatically transformed to reflect a cruise ship that feature cities around the world. If a classical evening tickles your fancy, attend the New Years Eve bash happening at the Pikes Peak Center. The Colorado Springs Philharmonic will be putting on quite the show featuring the melodic talent of the Three Rocky Mountain Tenors. This show will not only delight every music lover, but will also have you swaying in your seat to some good old classics. The show starts at 8:00 PM. Tickets for this event can be purchased at the Pikes Peak Center box office, or Tickets West.
Something a little more fun for the family could be the NOON Year’s Eve happening at the Colorado Springs City Auditorium. This event is sponsored by the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum, features light refreshments and is fun for every kid in the household (including every kid at heart). There will be an official countdown as 2012 can be promptly rung in at the noon hour. All the fun starts at 11am, and as an economical celebration, $10 gains your family access to all this event can hold. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at the Pikes Peak Children’s Museum.
