Debut author Jesse Kimmel-Freeman recently released Bella Notte, the first in her young adult romance series. Next up, the second in the series, Bella Vita. “I am working on writing the third installment to the series, Bella Tristezza, as we speak,” says Kimmel-Freeman. A fan of teenage angst and finding inspiration from her own children, look for more soon from this promising new author.
The Teaser for Bella Notte:
17 year old Emma Hutchinson struggles to find her place in the world she has been born to, while learning about herself and her heart as she tries to decide whether she should be with the guy she has been dreaming about since she was three or if she belongs with her betrothed.
Q: Real Name:
A: Jessica but I don’t use Jessica at all. It makes me think of when my mom would get angry with me and call me “Jessica” instead of “Pooh Bear.” Yes, in case you are wondering, that nickname was something she would quite happily shout out in the middle of a grocery store, “Pooh Bear, where are you?”
Q: Why have you chosen to write young adult romance?
A: I write what I read. I love reading young adult books. When I first began Bella Notte, it was because I wanted to read the book I was writing.
Q: Besides being a romance novelist, what other fascinating or off-beat jobs/careers have you had for a day job?
A: Student in Cultural Anthropology and the modern vampire culture. Also I absolutely adored working at the mail and copy center because I LOVE mail. And before that I work at Universal Studios Hollywood as Food Service Assistant—which is a glorified way of saying I pushed overpriced ice creams off on sweaty, hot tourists all day.
Q: How do you handle the isolation of being a full-time writer?
A: I take moments to be with my kids. I connect with people over the internet. I do small things so I don’t feel so alone, but truth be told, all writers exist in their own little worlds for part of the day anyways.
