A Rome man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in Cedartown on Thursday, December 22, 2011.
A Cedartown man, Zachary Tyler Davenport was shot in the head when a suspect fired a weapon through the rear window of a vehicle in which Davenport was a passenger. Davenport was taken to Polk Medical center and then transported by EMS to a Rome Hospital where he underwent surgery. He has since been released from the hospital.
Earl Deshone Davis, age 36, was arrested at his residence in Rome, Ga. and charged with five counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Davis has previously served time at Scott State Prison for similar charges.
- He was sentenced to serve three years for an aggravated assault charge as a result of an altercation that occurred on September 07,1993.
- He was sentenced to serve 12 months for charges of obstruction, criminal trespass, carrying a concealed weapon and firing a deadly weapon in public as a result of an altercation that occurred on April 18,1994.
- He was also sentenced to serve 12 months for charges of obstruction and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as a result of an altercation that occurred on October 25, 1996.
Davis served one year in prison from May 08, 1997 to April 10, 1998. He also served three months in prison from April 22, 1999 to June 30, 1999.
