Rosanne Cash gives a concert from her living room and the concert is made up from requests from her fans on Twitter – which, at the time was ‘from the past 5 days’. The songs which are most requested will be the ones she will play and sing during this ‘living room’ concert from her own home in New York City.
‘Sea of Heartbreak’, this old song that Don Gibson sang which became a country standard is about the best song we’ve heard in a long time as sung by Rosanne Cash in her concert from her living room. We loved the recorded version of it when we first heard it, and she is backed up by ‘The Boss’ in that version. ‘Sea of Heartbreak’ was written by Hal David and Paul Hampton.
Rosanne then said “This song was the most requested on Twitter – ‘September When It Comes’ “
Rosanne’s #LiveFromZoneC special on the radio was on Nashville radio station WSM AM 650 radio at 8 pm on Sunday.

‘Big popular request song on Twitter, song I wrote when I was 23 years old – very young’ – ‘Seven Year Ache’.
John Leventhal (her husband) is accompanying Rosanne Cash on her concert from their living room.
In ‘500 Miles’, Rosanne and John reinvent this old campfire type song, ‘If you miss the train I’m on, then you will know I’m gone’…’Lord, I’m 500 miles away from home…’
‘This 25 year old song is one of the most requested songs. I haven’t performed this in 25 years…’. ‘Never Be You’…
‘A song John and I wrote – “The first Cash who came and settled in Mass….the ship he came over on was ‘The Good Intent’….’
‘Runaway Train’…’the long distance phone calls, the voice on the line…’ that really takes us back to earlier times hearing this song by Rosanne….’souls who wave lanterns at runaway trains…’
‘Western Wall’, written by Rosanne and recorded by Emmy Lou (Harris, that is) and Linda Ronstadt…
Rosanne said, ‘It doesn’t get any better than that, having your song recorded by those two…’
From 1987, a song written by John Hiatt, ‘The Way We Make a Broken Heart’.
‘I wrote this when I was 23 years old ‘Blue Moon with Heartache’, and it got a lot of requests.’
From ‘Black Cadillac’ she sings ‘Black Cadillac’….Rosanne said she had many requests for dark songs from her Twitter fans, and that this is one of them.
‘House on the Lake’ a song she and John wrote together.
As for us, we greatly enjoyed this ‘personal’ concert from Rosanne Cash’s living room in New York City. What a great idea!
