On Monday, during a break on her show for commercials, Rosie O’Donnell, 49 announced to her audience she had proposed to her girlfriend Michelle Rounds, 40. She also tweeted a picture of Rounds with her engagement ring on.
Rosie’s show The Rosie Show was launched on Oprah’s OWN network in October. She replied to Bravo’s Andy Cohen’s congratulatory tweet. “thanks Andy…I am very happy.”
Rounds and O’Donnell met this year in Starbucks. O’Donnell shared with her audience that when she met Rounds she thought she was heterosexual and 28. “It’s funny and very exciting. I did not expect it” O’Donnell has said of their relationship.
Rounds and O’Donnell have actually been engaged for months. When asked why she waited until now to announce it publically, she had this to say. “You don’t want to become one of those celebrities that talks about their relationship ad nauseum and makes it into a fairy-tale thing. And then they go and have an affair with somebody. I don’t want to say any names.”
