There are some news blurbs that make even the most hardcore horror fans sit up, scratch their heads, and go “what on earth?”( or any vulgar variation of one’s choosing.) This is one of them. Yesterday, just under 24 hours after fans of the 2000 horror comedy American Psycho learned of a potential reboot, author Bret Easton Ellis took to twitter to voice his opinion. Surely he condemned any reboot of the film based on his popular novel…right? Wrong. Sort of.
American Psycho reboot announced
Said Ellis on the reboot, “I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of “American Psycho” unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or MILES FISHER.” He later tweeted “I am waiting for Scott Disick to ask: “Who in the hell is Bret Easton Ellis?”
Synopsis for The Evil Dead reboot
Scott Disick, for those who are under 30 or do their best to live under a rock, is the on-again-off-again boyfriend of heiress and reality star Kourtney Kardashian. Disick has been continuously harassed both by fans of the show and Kardashian herself for his incessant drinking and partying, even after the birth of their son, Mason, in 2009. The couple is now pregnant with their second child. If Disick is too busy trying to stay sober and change diapers, Ellis can still get his wish: Miles Fisher is a little bit lesser known but did have a role in this year’s gory horror flick Final Destination 5.
Other reality stars in horror movies
Ellis was most likely joking, but who would you like to see in an American Psycho reboot? Is a reboot even a good idea? Regardless, Hattiesburg residents can rent a copy of American Psycho at Blockbuster on Beauvior Road in Biloxi. Whether the expected reboot stars Disick or someone even less famous, check it out when it comes to The Grand 18…whenever that may be.
