There is nothing like a winter vacation in Sevier County, Tennessee. From November to March the towns of Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge come alive in twinkling lights and winter celebrations. There are plenty of opportunities for dining, shopping and shows to take in. It’s a magical time in the mountains.

Visitors to Smoky Mountain Winterfest in Sevierville will want to shop at either of the two malls. The Tanger Five Oaks Factory Outlet Mall has over 100 upscale shops. After spending some time here the adjacent mall to visit Governor’s Crossing Outlet Center. Here visitors will find a variety of shops such as Vanity Fair, a scrapbooking store and lots more.
Pigeon Forge offers its own fun and adventure. Dollywood is perhaps the most favorite attraction. It does close for the season after early January. Visitors to Winterfest in Sevier County should check the website for dates and hours of operation. There are shopping opportunities, restaurants and plenty of hotels.
Gatlinburg is only about four miles from Pigeon Forge. It’s a popular place for weddings and honeymoons. Conventions and events are scattered throughout Winterfest. It is also the home of Ober Gatlinburg which is the only Ski Resort in Tennessee.
