During this special and magical week, spend some time away from the hustle and bustle to take in some of the local festivities with your loved ones and friends. If all of your holiday shopping is done and the presents are safely wrapped underneath of the tree, you are way ahead of many people. Why not spend an evening with the family to enjoy one of the many attractions that Orlando has to offer? Even if you still have plenty of shopping to do, make it a family event and gather everyone to head out for some fun together. This week doesn’t have to be stressful if you can remember the true meaning of the season and keep your loved ones close.
If you have a Walt Disney World annual or seasonal pass, you don’t have to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to view all of the holiday decorations and lights. Spend an evening wandering around the park and you will still experience the magical feeling of Christmas. And although you won’t experience many of the special perks of Mickey’s Very Merry, you can still buy a cup of hot cocoa and wander through Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe and browse for some last minute stocking stuffers. Seating may be limited at this time of year, but you might even want to look into making a reservation at the Liberty Tree Tavern for a delicious family style buffet. Sometimes they have cancellations and it is often easier to get seating for later times, if you are willing to wait.
The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is still lighting up Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It continues to run through January. Check the schedule and head out for the fantastic light display, before it is too late. Stop at a few attractions on the way, and enjoy some time with the family on The Great Movie Ride and laughs in the Muppet Studios for Muppet Vision 3D.
Speaking of The Muppets, they are currently playing at the AMC Theaters at Downtown Disney. What better way to spend some quality family time, than to take them to a family-friendly movie? You can top it off with dinner at the T-Rex or Rainforest Café and walk off the dinner with some window-shopping, or real shopping for those last minute gifts!
There are still plenty of ideas for spending some quality family time and counting down these last few days before Christmas. The Candlelight Processional at Epcot will bring the true meaning of Christmas to light, as you can celebrate the Holidays around the world. Hear the Christmas Story told by a celebrity and listen to Christmas music performed by a choir of local musicians.
Whether you take a holiday sleigh ride at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, view the holiday parade at Animal Kingdom, or wander some of the other resorts to see how they have decorated in accordance with their theme, the special meaning of the holidays is bound to spark and ignite the feeling of hope and peace from within. Enjoy this time with family and be blessed by the magic of the season.
