Why doesn’t God do something about it?….well, God has done something about it. The problem is people do not listen or apply the information, then they want to blame God for the failure or lack of performance.
Personal conjecture or opinion is beginning to dominate the theology of many religious standards. Then people expect God to still work through their personal ideology; that would provide an unqualified *FAIL*.
God gave you this affliction to test you or teach you something? More than likely previous warnings were ignored and what manifested was an accumulation of continued silly action. God will use silly action if that is all you give Him.
From strange pulpit pontifications to even Christian songs; bad theology is evident in across the board venues. One would need to blame Job of the Bible for providing legs to much of this shock theology.
“The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away; blessed be the Name of the Lord”. Although this statement was made by Job in sincerity, it is sincerely wrong theologically. People are stunned that everything in the Bible is truly stated, but everything in the Bible is not a statement of truth.
It was satan that inflicted the tragedies on Job, not God. Satan delights in doing things and giving “spiritual credit” to Yahweh God. John 10:10 records that the “thief comes not but to kill, steal and destroy”. Job was crediting the wrong entity for the losses of his possessions and family. Just because Job thought it didn’t make it true.
This also brings us to the “God took him” miss that many bible instructed leaders use at funerals or tragic losses to human life. God doesn’t take anyone by death. If God wants them He will take them alive as with Enoch and Elijah. If someone is killed or taken by death, people need to reacquaint themselves with John 10:10, plus in Hebrews it clearly states the one who has power over death is satan. In futile efforts to give comfort to the hurting, well meaning words spoken to make those feel better will create confusion, something God is not the author of.
Even Christian songs will state “He gives and takes away” thus perpetuating the error of assigning thief status to a just God. God is not in the business of stealing anything as though He was a cosmic rip off artist.
There has been too much incorrect theology popping up in Christian music and culture; songs designed to make one feel good, but unfortunately are erroneous biblically. “Will someone take the place of this man?” or “will someone take the nails from His hand?” One fails miserably to meet the minimum requirements necessary for that transaction, and removing the nails would interfere with God’s plan of redemption and healing.
Churches have been guilty of removing the crosses from their interior, removing the Holy Spirit from fully working, throwing out any condemnation regarding sin, and have transformed Sunday morning to feel good about yourself entertainment exercises. The purpose of God’s church has been revamped to be more “seeker friendly”.
Sexual immorality corrupts a city and the shedding of innocent blood corrupts the land and the Bible clearly warns in Deuteronomy 30:19 that “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live”.
The physical and spiritual standards are being adjusted on the fly by religious revisionists that are more interested in validating their thinking instead of adhering to sound Bible doctrine. After substituting, eliminating or changing much biblical foundations, then are puzzled why things don’t work.
God has already done what was necessary to set one up for success….it’s just being ignored.
