The Enneagram has become recognized over the past 40 years as a reliable tool for psychological and spiritual insight into the human condition. It has been used by businesses, churches, the US government, universities and individuals to gain insight into the anatomy of the personality, using identification of personality types that have been described by some as the “map of the soul”.
The word Enneagram means a graph of nine. Each of the nine personality types on the Enneagram has a path to recover a basic trust of the Universe, themselves and the unfolding of life. The nine personality types of the Enneagram give detailed and useful information about what drives us to behave as we do by revealing unconscious patterns, habitual preoccupations, and underlying fear; in other words, it leads to a deeper understanding of self. In Enneagram theory, the personality is both a stepping stone and a barrier to full conscious development. Observing the habits of the personality gives a way to move beyond the personality, which is how the Enneagram can be used as a tool for transformation.
“We will never fully know God until we come to know ourselves thoroughly.” –Julian of Norwich

She recently completed a week-long intensive Enneagram teacher training with Russ Hudson, who is internationally considered to be one of the most respected teachers of this wisdom tool. He is the co-author of the book The Wisdom of the Enneagram along with Don Richard Riso.
“Much of what has been called Christianity has more to do with disguising the ego behind the screen of religion and culture than any real movement toward a God beyond the small self, and a new self in God.” -Richard Rohr, The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective
