Deadline to submit your application and video for The Amazing Race is Wednesday, November 30. Although they do hold occassional open calls, the online submission process continues to give you the best odds of getting on the show.
- Producing a great video – No matter how “HD” your phone is, use a digital camcorder (30MB max). Make sure the area you will be filming has really good lighting. The video can only be a maximum of three minutes, so if you don’t want to do a bunch of editing, plan your time carefully. Find something that will show your individual personalities, the relationship between both contestants and how you plan to win $1,000,000.
- Take great photos – Again, your phone is fine for Facebook, but please use a quality digital camera in an area that has good lighting. You should have a friend or family member take photos of each contestant separately and also together. Individual photos should capture your personality and physique. Team photos should capture the bond between you
- No gimmicks – As much as you may think that gimmicks will get you noticed, it’s more likely to get you deleted. They will be looking for real people, working through real relationships, that have a real desire to compete and win the competition.
- Fill out the online application
According to the CBS website, casting calls will be set up in January and the competition will be held in late May/early June. They do not notify you if you aren’t selected, so if you haven’t been contacted by the end of January, you may still apply for future seasons.
