All gifts are not wrapped. Some gifts are placed in gift bags that are filled with paper. Some gifts come in envelopes or decorated gift card boxes. Some gifts come wrapped in beautiful seasonal paper with big bows or pretty ribbons.
The greatest gift came wrapped in flesh.
Even though the sign was the babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manager (Luke 2:12), we know that gift had already been wrapped in heaven. God wrapped Himself in flesh and came to earth as the best and most everlasting Christmas gift. Straight from heaven came a gift so unique that all of us can share it.
God sent this gift wrapped in flesh not just to special people but to ALL people. We just need to receive the gift, accept the gift, embrace the gift and let others know about the gift.
This gift was wrapped in heaven, but God intended it to be unwrapped here on earth.
Among your wrappings and unwrappings this Christmas, remember the gift that was wrapped in flesh. It is the best gift you will ever receive . . . the gift of Jesus Christ; God wrapped in flesh.
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14)
