Barack Hussein Obama – The class warfare President
From the beginning of his Presidency, Barack Obama has endeavored to divide Americans any way he can, either by race or by class.
On practically any given day, he can be counted on to attack “the rich” – those evil people who have worked hard to succeed while building businesses, and in the process actually made a good living and put many other Amreicans to work.
For Obama, however, that simply isn’t right. How dare they want to keep some of their hard earned money!
In almost every speech, he castigates the rich, while claiming they need to pay “their fair share.”
But he never says what, exactly, is “fair.”
We are simply supposed to accept at face value, his ridiculous notion that rich people pay no taxes whatsoever while doing nothing but sitting around counting their money, as he did in April.
“I’m rooting for everybody to get rich,” he said. “But I believe that we can’t ask everybody to sacrifice and then tell the wealthiest among us, well, you can just relax and go count your money, and don’t worry about it. We’re not going to ask anything of you,” he said.
A Sept 20, 2011 article at ABC News notes:
Treasury Secretary Geithner yesterday declined to answer a key question about the president’s proposed “Buffett Rule”: How many millionaires and billionaires pay lower tax rates than middle-income families?
The answer: not that many.
The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has crunched the numbers and found that Warren Buffett and his secretary are the exception to the rule. For the most part, the wealthy pay a significantly higher percentage of their income in taxes than middle-income workers.
The key numbers: this year those earning over $1 million will pay, on average, 29.1 percent on federal taxes. Those earning between $50,000 and $75,000 will pay 15 percent.
According to the non-partisan Tax Foundation, the top 1 percent of earners account for 20 percent of “adjusted gross income” (an Internal Revenue Service measure) and pay 38 percent of income taxes.
A 2007 article at the American Enterprise Institute shows that the top 1 percent of earners – the prime target of the Occupy Wall Street protesters – made 19 percent of all income in the U.S. in 2004, yet paid a staggering 37 percent of the total income tax bill.
The top 5 percent that year accounted for 33 percent of the income, yet paid 57 percent of the total income tax bill.
The bottom 50 percent of earners accounted for 13 percent of the income, while only paying 7 percent of the total income tax bill.
Regardless of what data you choose to look at, the picture remains the same.
“In the United States, the rich not only pay their “fair” share, they pay more,” wrote William M. Briggs, in an article showing that the wealthy in the United States pay far more in taxes than in any other country.
“I repeat: the rich pay more here than anywhere else. And not only more, but much more. This puts the frequent calls to “Make the rich pay their fair share!” on shaky ground.
Further, the burden is on those who make this cry to define exactly, precisely, definitely what they mean by fair.
Of course, they never do, and attempts to nail liberals down on that point are often fruitless.
Obama has succeeded in rallying his base, who have taken to the streets in the various Occupy Wall Street protests.
Not only has he expressed support for the Communist Party-backed movement, he recently told Occupy hecklers in New Hampshire they were the reason he ran for office in the first place.
“Families like yours, young people like the ones here today — including the ones who were just chanting at me — you’re the reason that I ran for office in the first place,” he said.
America was treated to the height of class warfare in a speech he gave in Osawatomie, Kansas earlier in December.
“I mean, understand, it’s not as if we haven’t tried this theory. Remember in those years, in 2001 and 2003, Congress passed two of the most expensive tax cuts for the wealthy in history. And what did they get us? The slowest job growth in half a century,” he said.
A Washington Post fact checker, however, gave three “Pinocchios” to the President for his false assertions that were based on shaky, suspect, anecdotal evidence.
It is, unfortunately, what we have come to expect from our President, who, despite his original promise to be a uniter, has done more to divide America than any President in living memory.
It is also another reason why he does not deserve to be re-elected in 2012.
