Starting on Monday, November 28, 2011, the lobby of The Fairmont transforms into a magical winter wonderland.
On Friday, December 2, 2011, The Fairmont holds its Opening Holiday Celebration from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Giant chocolate nutcrackers, created by Executive Pastry Chef Fernando Arreola, will be unveiled. There will also be a gingerbread city, created by Bijan Bakery, to admire. Entertainment includes Leigh High School Marching Band, Merry Mariachis, San Jose Ballet, and the local Harker Choir. There will be hot chocolate to enjoy for the whole family during this free event.
Those who don’t want to eat at home on Christmas Day can choose from several dining options on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25. A Champagne Buffet Brunch is offered in the Imperial Ballroom. Seating times are from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., every half hour. The cost is $58 for adults, $29 for children, ages 5 to 12, and children under 5 are complimentary. There will be live piano play as well as children’s activities.
The Fountain restaurant offers a Christmas Buffet Brunch on the 25th. Seating times are from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., every half hour. The cost is $48 per adult, $24 per child between the ages of 5 and 12, and children under 5 are free.
Those looking for an elegant plated Christmas dinner can enjoy a 4-course dinner between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Fountain restaurant. The meal is $55 per adult, $27 for children 5 to 12, and children under 5 are complimentary.
The Fairmont also offers several options for those looking to ring in the New Year in style. On Saturday, December 31, 2011, The Fairmont holds a Black Tie Gala. The reception starts at 8:30 p.m., which is followed by dinner at 9:00 p.m. It is a 21-and-over event and costs $150 per person. Music is provided by Littler Sister Band.
Also on the 31st, Pagoda restaurant inside The Fairmont hosts an elegant 4-course Asian dinner. The meal includes a bottle of French champagne for each couple, and the cost for the meal is $125 per adult. Diners must be 21 and over. Music is provided by Wally’s Swing World.
The Lobby Lounge hosts Dance the Night Away, featuring Alfie’s NYE Dazzle Band, starting at 9:00 p.m. There is no cover charge and reservations are not taken for this venue.
Finally, those who are looking for a place to eat on New Year’s Day 2012 can enjoy a Bloody Mary Brunch at the Fountain restaurant on Sunday, January 1, 2012. The Fountain opens at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast, and brunch begins at 10:30 a.m. The cost for brunch is $48 per adult, $24 for children ages 5 – 12, and children under 5 are complimentary.
