Bella Gluten Free:Can be found at www.bellaglutenfree.com
Bella Gluten Free is a company offering baking mixes that are not only gluten free, but also casein, soy, corn, nut, and egg free as well. The taste of these products is amazing, and we think they are an allergen-free wonder because taste and quality do not suffer. The “Pizza Dough, Rolls, and Focaccia Mix” yielded a soft herbed pizza crust. There are also “for crispy pizza crust” directions on the back of the bag. The “Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix” made a flavorful sweet bread. There is also a flour blend mix available that is ready to substitute into your favorite recipes, cup for cup. The flour blend worked well for us. One thing we find most impressive about Bella Gluten-Free is the support for the products provided on the website. They can be found at www.bellaglutenfree.com. The recipes are twists on the fabulous packaged mixes, making the mixes much more versatile. We are convinced that just about any allergen-free baked good out there can be made with the help of Bella Gluten Free flour blend, mixes, and the wonderful support offered on the Bella Gluten Free website.

Rudi’s:Can be found at http://www.Rudis.com
Rudi’s is wonderful gluten free bread found in the freezer at our favorite health food store. We tried three varieties; Original, Multigrain and Cinnamon Raisin. We soon came to like the idea of taking home frozen bread after Rudi’s products stayed fresh when kept in the freezer. We would take out only what was needed for a meal or snack; thawing it and leaving the remainder of the loaf in the freezer allowing the bread to be at its best. After a few seconds in the microwave, Rudi’s bread products were nice and moist. The Original variety made great sandwiches while we enjoyed the Multigrain variety as toast with jam. The Cinnamon Raisin variety soon became a breakfast favorite. Rudi’s gluten free bakery products are all natural and soy free, dairy free, and nut free. Rudi’s is free of any major allergens and tasty.

Sol:Can be found at www.sunrich.com
Many people who have Celiac Disease or gluten intolerance also cannot tolerate dairy. This is true with some of the members of our testing staff as well. Our testing team had a very good experience with Sol, a non-dairy beverage made from sunflower kernels. The smooth texture of this product makes it amazingly versatile. It was used in our test kitchen to make extra fluffy pancakes, tasty sauce for a casserole, and it was also used as a refreshing chilled beverage. Members of staff think it can difficult to find a dairy-alternative beverage that has a pleasant taste, but this drink fit the bill. Another thing about Sol that appealed to us is the nutritional value of the main ingredient, sunflower kernels. These kernels have been described as a nutritional superfood, containing vitamin E, folic acid, calcium, and vitamin D. Sol can be found at www.sunrich.com.
