The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend has come to a close, but opens the door for the Christmas celebrations to begin in full swing. Here’s what’s happening this week in Los Angeles:
The 2011 Hollywood Christmas Parade
This 80-year-old Hollywood tradition kicks off on Sunday, November 28, at 6:00 p.m. The Parade has become an American institution, along with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade. The Parade will be hosted by Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie, and telecast live on local television stations nationwide throughout December. Marie Osmond is this year’s grand marshal.
Montana Avenue’s Holiday Walk
On Friday, December 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Montana Avenue kicks off its Holiday season with twinkling street lights filled with live music and festivities! Shops stay open late so that you can find the perfect holiday gifts. Santa plans to make an appearance too!
Burbank’s 12 Days of the Holidays
Downtown Burbank brings you two weeks of winter wonderment with its12 Days of Holiday Cheer starting Thursday, December 1, with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Downtown Santa’s Wonderland, and running through December 12.

Heritage Square Museum’s 17th Annual Holiday Lamplight Celebration
This living history program celebrates the season and Californian history all at once.Guests will experience spectacular holiday festivities in three of the museum’s historic homes. Costumed hosts transport visitors from house to house to enjoy music, dancing, singing and more holiday cheer. Additionally, guests can listen to classic Christmas tales from a “special visitor” and shop for unique holiday gifts in the Museum Store.
Dates of the celebration are Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4. Evening tours begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue through 8:30 p.m. Tours are approximately one hour in length and space is limited. Admission is $20.00 per adult and $10.00 for children six to12 years.

Los Angeles Master Chorale: Holiday Wonders: Festival of Carols
The Los Angeles Master Chorale’s seasonal favorite has sold out for the past two years. So they are now expanding it to two Saturday matinees: December 3 and December 10 at 2:00 p.m., at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Cherished holiday carols such as Joy to the World, The First Noel, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and others will be sung to perfection by 115 members of the Chorale under Music Director Grant Gershon.
Tickets range from $19.00-$99.00, depending on the Section. Tickets for children ages 6-12 are discounted 25% in all sections. Group rates are also available.
