Last week was a brutal week for The X Factor fans, and this week is shaping up to be even more difficult. Fans had to say goodbye to LeRoy Bell and Lakoda Rayne last week, and now viewers are discovering that this week holds another double elimination. The show is out of relatively obvious cuts, so what will happen when two more have to go? While fans count down to Wednesday’s performance show (airing on channel 10 in Scottsdale), here are a few teasers about what fans can expect.
As mentioned, The X Factor will send home two acts again this week. Who will be the most vulnerable? It’s become clear that nobody should assume their favorite is safe. Josh Krajcik and Melanie Amaro are clear frontrunners, but they still need the fan’s votes. Marcus Canty and Astro have already been in the bottom once, so are they destined to return? Will Simon Cowell be able to keep all three of his girls safe again this week, or is it time for one to go? L.A. Reid is the only other mentor who still has all three of his acts, but it seems almost impossible to expect he will get all three guys through to next week’s show.
While the singers can’t tell fans what their songs are ahead of time, they do tend to give their fans some teasers via their Twitter and Facebook pages. Social media has become a huge component of success on The X Factor, especially since fans can vote via Twitter this season. The contestants will be paying homage to music icons this week, which should make for some incredible song choices and performances. According to TV Line Monday night, all of the performers will be doing songs from Michael Jackson’s songbook. Do you think this will be a hit or a miss? Do you have any guesses based on what the contestants are teasing?
Josh Krajcik has shared several tidbits via his Twitter page: “The goal is to get better each week & bring something new to the table w/ every performance,” and “I think you’re all gonna like what I have in store for you on @TheXFactorUSA.” Josh has perhaps been the most consistent performer this season, and he seems to truly understand what works for him better than just about anyone else. He has had some amazing performances this season, so how is he planning to step it up this week?
Drew Ryniewicz was a show favorite early on, and she did a great job last week. Some, however, are anxious for her to push outside her comfort zone a bit. She tweeted, “So I love my song for this week. It’s not upbeat, but it’s also not slow. Has a bit of attitude :)” Sounds like it’ll be a great one for her fans!
Chris Rene also had a great performance last week with the return of his original song “Young Homie.” For this week, Rene says, “Got the perfect song. And u feel blessed to have many fans supporting me. Blessingz #Changing my Life.” Fans are certainly rooting for him, and hope he can keep himself away from elimination this week.
Another guy who may be at risk is Marcus Canty, but he is certainly rallying his supporters. He posted, “Wow rehearsal with @brianfriedman was the bomb. Im super excited for all of #TeamMarcusCanty to see this! #VOTEVOTEVOTE” and “I can’t wait I got something special for #TeamMarcusCanty this week! #VOTEVOTEVOTE.” Brian Bradley, Astro, hasn’t said much yet about his song this week. He did post a tweet sharing, “Next show will unite all ASTROnauts!” He seemed to reconnect with his fans last week, so will his momentum keep him safe?
Who will you be voting for this week? Who do you think is most at risk in a double elimination? Tune in Wednesday and Thursday night to The X Factor, airing at 7 p.m. on channel 10 in Scottsdale.
