You may already know how you’re going to spend New Year’s Eve here in the district, but what will you do during the daytime? The movies are a great idea, as local theaters are piled up with many of the best films of the past year. Almost all of D.C.’s theaters will be closing slightly earlier on New Year’s Eve so their employees can join in the festivities. To make up for being closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas, all IMAX theaters will be extending additional hours to their schedule (except on New Year’s Eve) until the start of the new year. Here are a few special events playing at local theaters in D.C. this weekend:
