Headlining the TNA Final Resolution PPV is an “iron man” match between Robert Roode and AJ Styles. Storm wasn’t shy when he said who he wanted to win the match and why.
“AJ Styles is my buddy, but I’m actually hoping for Bobby to win the match. I want Bobby to win so I can defeat him for the world title. I want him to know and to live with the fact that I was the one who took the belt from him.”
Storm is widely considered the most prolific tag-team wrestler of all-time in TNA. That’s a huge complement considering guys like Bully Ray, Devon, Scott Steiner, and other great tag-team wrestlers are part of the roster. When asked what he thought about this label and his tag-team career, Storm had the following comments:
“It’s great. It’s one of the things that I actually enjoy hearing and took as a huge complement. A little while back, Bully Ray came up to me and told me that I could possibly go down as the greatest tag-team wrestler of all-time. He said I was part of two of the greatest tag-teams ever. It was an honor to hear that from him. But honestly, I just go out there and try my best to do my job. I just happened to be very fortunate to go out there with two great partners in Chris Harris and Bobby Roode.”
When asked who he thought was the greatest tag-team of all time, and he couldn’t pick either of his teams, Storm didn’t hesitate with his answer:
“Growing up in Tennessee and watching tag-team wrestling, I thought The Midnight Express were the best tag-team especially when they feuded the Rock N’ Roll Express.”
For old school wrestling fans, I made sure to clarify which version of the Midnight Express he was talking about. Storm said it was the original version with Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey.
Storm’s affection for drinking beer is well known. Considering it was still early in the day, I asked Storm how many beers he has had to drink already. I was thinking he probably had at least a six pack by now, but to my surprise, Storm gave the following answer:
“Believe it or not, I haven’t had any right now,” said Storm as he laughed. “Im trying to get my work done right now before I fly down to Orlando. Plus, I don’t know if my doc wants me to show up to my appointment today after I’ve been drinking all morning.”
As we closed our interview, Storm had the following comments for his fans:
“I really want to say thanks to everyone for supporting me,” Storm sincerely said. “If you want you can follow me on Twitter @Cowboy_J_Storm or visit my website at Sorryaboutyourdamnluck.com.”
