If you’re into Yiddish, Gypsy, Balkan and Israeli inspired music, this is the event for you. This event, open to all ages, starts at 8 p.m., and the music starts an hour later. If you want to experience the excitement of the ball drop, this is the location for you. The Byrd Theatre, “Richmond’s premiere movie palace,” will raise a grand, illuminated ball at midnight. Those who want to enjoy the rest of Carytown’s shopping and scenery shouldn’t fret; the streets will not be blocked off.
New Year’s Eve at the John Marshall Ballrooms, John Marshall Residences, 8 p.m.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve at this historic building for this charity event benefitting Conner’s heroes. Those age 21 and up are welcome, and tickets are $110 per person and $195 per couple. New Year’s Eve with Pat McGee, Capital Ale House, 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy good food and drinks, while jamming with Richmond’s own Pat McGee Band at the Downtown Capital Ale House! The event, which starts at 7:30 p.m., is open to everyone age 21 and up. Whenever the band isn’t playing, the DJ will be spinning the tunes. Price: $45.
Eighth Annual Quest for Father Time, Downtown Richmond, 7:30 p.m.
This annual event is for the more active New Year’s enthusiasts. Enter this race with several teammates in an attempt to keep Father Time from stopping time and locking us in the year 2011 forever.
