Cincinnati, Ohio–Andre Davis, the former professional wrestler under the name Andre Heart, is set to go to trial on Wednesday, November 9 in Hamilton County, Ohio on charges of felonious assault for having sex with 12 women while having HIV and not telling them. Heart wrestled in the Mid-West for a variety of promotions while inflicted with HIV and failed to tell promoters or wrestlers that he was affected and in some cases Heart gigged (bled) during matches putting many more at risk.
Heart allegedly had an offer from the WWE and was to start in developmental when he was discovered to have HIV during his physical. The WWE pulled their offer and the story was the talk of the wrestling world when it was learned how many workers he had put at risk while wrestling.
Alex Uehlein, the former girlfriend of Heart has two children with the former wrestler and said in a recent interview that her son and daughter faced scrutiny and discrimination at day care and from friends after the scope of what Heart had done was realized. “They (the children) have been discriminated against at their day care” Uehlein lamented. According to Uehlein managers at Blue Ash Educational Building pressured her to provide medical records saying the children were not inflicted with HIV and they would pose no danger to other children.
Heart faces up to 120 years in prison if convicted on all counts.
Louisville, Kentucky—Ohio Valley Wrestling and Impact Wrestling have announced a partnership that will see OVW as the training ground for future stars in TNA. The announcement was made yesterday and states that OVW head trainer and owner Danny Davis will work closely with Vice President of Talent Relations Bruce Prichard to develop new stars for Impact Wrestling.
OVW was once the training facility for the WWE and produced stars such as John Cena, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar among others. Former WWE Tag Team Champion Nick “U-Gene” Dinsmore is also a trainer in OVW along with “Hustler” Rip Rogers who has been called one of the most underrated wrestlers ever.
There are a number of current OVW stars who could make an immediate and positive impact in TNA including Paredyse, Michael Hayes and Izza Belle Smothers who had a TNA contract several years ago but suffered an injury and ended that journey. Veteran Trailer Park Trash could also provide locker room leadership and training for the current TNA line-up.
I was made aware of this happening several months ago but was asked not to disclose any information prior to the contracts being signed. Congratulations and best of luck to Ohio Valley Wrestling and all those involved.
–Former WWE Tag Team Champion and Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura has indicated that he will file for dual citizenship and will spend more time in Mexico, where he has residence, after his lawsuit against the TSA was thrown out by a judge. Ventura, who has a titanium hip, is often stopped by airport security after setting off metal detectors and was offended after one such incident required Ventura to be subject to a pat down search. Ventura protested that TSA had previously used a hand wand metal detector and that the pat down violated his right to unlawful search and seizure. Ventura has not flown since the incident in 2008 and called the county “the Fascist States of America” and indicated that he had lost his patriotism stating “I will never stand for a national anthem again. I will turn my back and raise a fist.” Ventura was told by a district judge that the lawsuit should be filed in Circuit Court but Ventura has not decided to pursue the case further. It was probably no coincidence that a film crew from his show “Conspiracy Theories” was at the press conference held by Ventura after the ruling.
–Sign Guy lost his hair at the Hoosier Pro Wrestling show this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio just as I had predicted. –Goldust has said he will not miss Maryse but that could just be sour grapes because she is involved with The Miz and not interested in ol’ Dustin. Maryse is in negotiations with Playboy about possibly doing another shoot and as of now there has been no interest from Impact Wrestling.
–The Hep-C Kid Sean Waltman said he wants to return to the WWE…well, hopefully that does not happen and just keep in mind what happened to the last person with Hep-C who wrestled in New York.
–The IWA Mid-South continues to have problems with attendance and many are blaming the location of the shows as well as the involvement of Ian Rotten. The first show, a King of the Death Match tournament, was mired in controversy after several workers either pulled out or no-showed after they learned that Rotten was still very much part of the group despite denials by new owners Mike Miller, Vince Jones and Kevin Adams. The attendance for the re-launch show was reported as between 70-80 people while the 15th anniversary show had maybe 10 people while the most recent show had 25 paid. The group is currently running in Bellevue, Illinois and are said to be looking at other locations.
