Sin City is one of the hottest travel destinations for New Year’s Eve and ringing in 2012 is sure to be an over the top festivity. There are many different places to be and be seen in the city of Sin. Here is our guide to the hottest places to be on New Years Eve in Las Vegas
The World Famous Las Vegas Strip
Each year the Strip is closed off for the New Years festivities as revelers fill the street to count down to the new year. Several of the major casinos set off fireworks at midnight, and many temporary bars are opened on the street to add to the celebration. Sin City lives up to its name on the biggest party night of the year, so enjoy and SIN it up!
“Strip” Tip: If you are going to head to the Strip for NYE, plan ahead! The streets around the Strip get closed off to cars starting around 5:00pm. Remember to map out your route and parking plan in advance.
The Fruit Loop
Want to experience the Gay Vegas New Year’s Eve? Are you also looking to avoid the Strip but still have several places to “bar hop” between? Then check out the Fruit Loop, the gay neighborhood located at the intersection of Paradise Road and Naples Road (close to UNLV and the Hard Rock Casino). Park in one convenient location and walk or stumble between the parties at Piranha nightclub, The Buffalo, Free Zone and the Double Down Saloon. There will be something for everyone at the Fruit Loop on New Year’s Eve.
Fruit Loop Tip: The parking in the Fruit Loop is limited so plan on arriving early, or car pool with a few friends. Also the parking lot at UNLV’s Thomas & Mack center is near by and convenient to get in and out of.
Fremont Street Experience
The party continues in Downtown Las Vegas on the famous Fremont Street also known as America’s Party. The street is covered with an amazing TV screen display that is sure to count down to the New Year in style. Also check out the zip-line experience over the crowd for a one-of-a-kind way to ring in 2012.
