Brackett’s Landing is located just north of Seattle on the Edmonds waterfront. The beach extends on the North side of the Ferry docks. This beach is a migratory bird stop during the spring and fall. During the winter, several species of birds remain in the area, and leave in the spring.
For the birder, the beach offers flocks of Brants, Surf Scoters, Sandpipers and more. These birds feed on the local abundance of eel grass, molusks and crustations. The area is a Marine Sanctuary, and a popular scuba diving park. The beach is a great place to walk, though dogs are not allowed.
The beach is a couple of block from downtown Edmonds. The city has a small town feel, with small restraunts, art galleries and shops. It is home to four or five small coffee shops that all carry delicious coffee and food.
The city hosts an Art Walk every third Thursday from 5 pm to 8 pm. The event is coordinated by the owners of art gallery Manya Vee. For artist interested in showing their work, check out their website for the submittal process.
