Elephants, and Diaries. What a mish mosh to celebrate, but well worth it to do so.
White Chocolate, going car free, ice cream comes, business women, hobbits, elephant appreciation, and dear diary(ies), what do they all have in common, besides being the biggest bunch of odd ball items?
Well, the answer to that is, they share the 22nd of September in 2011.(each of these days is unique in it’s own right).
So let’s take a look at each of these day’s and where you can find the information online to expand your journey of knowledge, to understand a bit about each day, etc… better.
The first day we’ll take a look at is “Dear Diary Day”. You will be surprised to know that there are some recipes attached to this day, which really is amazing. You can check out the following links to learn more about this day:
The second day we’ll take a look at is “Elephant Appreciation Day”. You’ve heard the old bit about,”How do you cook an elephant?” If you ask that question to a child, it really is amazing what they’ll say. But those kids probably did not realize there is a day to appreciate these big loveable creatures. Hopefully the links below will give you an insight to this day:
The third day we’ll look at is “National White Chocolate Day”. For the populous of us who tolerate the milk, dark, and the semi-sweet, but are not a real fan, white chocolate is a God send. It is known that white chocolate is not a true chocolate, but why should it matter, when it has it’s own day, and is so flexible with what can be done with it. The links below hopefully will help you in your journey on this day:
(the link above is an article on the day, it is a great read and you will learn quite a bit on the day from it).
(the link above has some great recipes to try out.)
For the population that does not drive for one reason or another, there is a reason to celebrate. The fourth day we’ll be looking at is “Car Free Day” . The following links should open your eyes to what it is to be car free: ( You could even make some car shaped sugar cookies to celebrate, if you can find some car cookie cutters to use.)
The fifth day we’ll look at is “National Ice Cream Cone Day”.We all know, we have to have a cone to hold up our ice cream in the summer, if we don’t have it in a bowl to put it in. Sometimes the cone can actually end up being yummier than what goes into it, so the 22nd of September is a great day to celebrate it.The following links should guide you on your journey of discovery of what makes a great cone:
The sixth day we’ll look at celebrates “Business Women’s Day”. The business women definitely deserves her own day, we hear about the “business man” and hardly the “business woman”, so hopefully the links will spark some ideas within you, to do for the local “local business woman” in your life:
(the pioneer woman link is to Oklahoma’s own Ree Drummond’s recipes. She is one of the best business women I have heard of . From blogging, to books, and her own show on FoodNetwork, she is one who is to be admired.)
Finally, the seventh day we’ll look at is “Hobbit Day”.If you are a Lord of the Rings fan then you know what a hobbit is. Well along with all these other days mentioned, the hobbit is also celebrated on September 22nd. The following links should give you an insight to the day, and the hobbit diet:
No matter which of the seven days you choose to celebrate, the journey you have with the ones you care for will be fun and educational and also too boot an enjoyable experience. All these days are unique unto themselves, so there is one that will satisfy everyone’s taste. Over all the goal is to make memories and enjoy them to the fullest.
