LARGO: In the November issue of Mayhem Magazine, Wild Indian Saloon owner, Mike Lang, made a public wager regarding the up-and-coming Kansas City Chiefs vs New England Patriots game that was scheduled to take place on Monday, November 21st. The ad stated that lang was so confident that the Chiefs would be triumphant over the Patriots, that he would wager his head of hair against the head of hair of any Patriots fan who would come forward and accept the challenge. Well, someone did come forward to accept Lang’s challenge, and that someone was Anthony Arnold, President of Vertex Worldwide Media which owns & operates Mayhem Magazine, Black Pearl Rock Radio, and Gator Country Music.
This wasn’t the first time that Lang has made this wager. Lang has wagered his scalp on football games several times in the past.
“I’ve won and lost this bet in the past, and even shaved a woman’s head, so I have no fear, but I’m sure the thought of Anthony spending the holidays with his new bride BALD has him concerned.” – Mike Lang, Wild Indian Saloon owner.
On Monday, Arnold, Lang, and many football fans showed up at the Wild Indian Saloon to watch the Chiefs vs the Patriots game on television, and to find out which one of the men would have their head shaved on stage following the Game.
When all was said and done, the Patriots won the game. The final score was: New England Patriots – 34, Kansas City Chiefs – 3. With the Chiefs losing the game Anthony Arnold got the satisfaction of shaving the head of Wild Indian Saloon owner, Mike Lang, on stage in front of the entire bar. Arnold wasn’t the only one who got the joy of “scalping” Lang though. Eventually Arnold handed over the clippers to “Miss Jeanette” – Black Pearl Rock Radio DJ and host of the weekly radio show, “Soft & Hard”.
One thing is for certain. Though Lang has made this kind of wager several times in the past, it will be awhile before he makes this kind of wager again… well, at least until his hair grows back!!!
